The Bear Necessities (“we”, “us”, the “Site”) is a community shelf of baby and children’s product recommendations written by parents. We publish two lists: the Bee’s Knees (products parents loved) and Tried & Tossed It (products parents would not buy again).

We do not sell, manufacture, import, distribute or ship any product. All purchases happen on third-party retailer websites, under that retailer’s own terms, prices, delivery and returns policies. Any contract of sale is exclusively between you and that retailer.

Recommendations, verdicts, quotes and feedback on the Site are the personal opinions of individual parents. They are not professional, medical, safety or purchasing advice, and they do not represent our views.

By submitting content you confirm it is your own honest experience, that you hold the rights to anything you upload or link, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store and moderate that content on the Site. You may ask us to remove your contributions at any time.

We screen submissions and may edit, delay, refuse or remove any contribution — including content we consider unsafe, unlawful, misleading, abusive or spam — but we are under no obligation to monitor content and cannot guarantee that every entry is accurate.

Product names, images, descriptions, prices, availability and age suitability are supplied by parents, retailers or automated lookups and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions, age ratings, safety warnings and applicable recalls before buying or using any item, particularly for infants and young children.

Our safety screening is a basic plausibility check. It is not a certification, an inspection, or a substitute for official product safety information.

Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commission never buys a place on a list and never changes a parent’s verdict. Rankings reflect submissions only.

Affiliate links are marked as sponsored links and lead to third-party retailers. The price you pay is the retailer’s normal price; we receive no payment from brands in exchange for a listing, a rating or a place on the Bee’s Knees list.

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You must be at least 18 to create an account.

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability.

We are not liable for any product or service recommended, un-recommended, listed or linked on this Site. We are merely a platform that shares other users’ suggestions. We accept no responsibility or liability for the quality, safety, legality, condition, description, delivery, pricing or performance of any product or service, nor for any decision you make — to buy or not to buy — based on content published here. Claims relating to a product must be directed to the seller or manufacturer.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, data or goodwill, and any injury, damage or loss arising from the use or misuse of a product discovered through the Site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud or intentional misconduct.

Outbound links are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, terms, privacy practices or availability of third-party websites.

We may update these terms; the version published here at the time of your visit applies. These terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s country of establishment, and mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
